Our Mission
iSisters creates and delivers technology programs at no cost to learners because we believe in equipping women with the skills and confidence to participate fully in their community.
Challenge
Learning Management Systems are an integral part of the eLearning design and development process. We currently have a trademarked online eLearning system called iTeachnology. iTeachnology is designed to deliver technology and employability skills to women in need. The program provides instructional content and resources in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and job-related skills to prepare women in need with better career options.
Using iTeachnology has permitted us to expand our reach to rural, remote, and disadvantaged areas whose communities would otherwise not have access to these services bringing learners online, encouraging them to continue benefiting from online technology and tools.
Our instructional content and format is due for an update. We are a leader in community-based technology education and our material and delivery method requires modernizing to remain relevant in an ever-changing technological environment. As our province continues to experience austere economic pressures, this work dramatically increases the capacity of our organization to efficiently reach more women in need, and support more non-profit organizations to deliver their own programs across the province. Providing critical independence skills development with women enrolled in iTeachnology ultimately increases their economic earning potential, self-dependence, and an enhanced ability to actively contribute in their communities.
Organized eLearning content in one location.
We would like to store all of our eLearning materials in one location. This reduces the risk of losing important data and makes it easier to create more eLearning courses. We would like every member of iSisters to access the information making online collaboration a possibility.
Unlimited access to eLearning materials.
We want our learners to have unlimited access to the information they need it.
We would like the ability to keep track of learner progress, ensure that they are meeting their goals and offer them supplemental resources to improve their skills. We would like to add additional online modules in order to
update information and make the necessary modifications without redoing the entire eLearning course.
Our goal is to reach as many women as possible to equip them with the skills needed to participate fully in our community and to contribute to the economy; to create a continuum of technology education services that inspires women and youth to move toward economic independence. We nurture potential and promote dignity.
