Issue: Residents of extended care, nursing or retirement facilities are often dependent on medication. On a case-by-case basis some residents are permitted to administer their own medication with approval by the medical staff (self medicate). However many residence that self medicate can forget to take their medication or worse they forget that they took their medicine. This creates heath risks for the residents and also administration overhead for the staff if they need to assume control of the residents’ medication regimen.
Mandate: Develop a solution and application(mobile, web and hardware) with business processes to monitor, alert and report on the self administration of medication in extended living complexes. This will include alerting to the resident’s mobile device, computer systems and mobile devices for the staff with optional alerting for children and grand children.
